We are a large, mixed-voice choir of committed and enthusiastic singers of all ages and backgrounds, united by a love of music and choral singing. Our musical heritage in Chorleywood goes back over 100 years! We perform a wide range of choral music and welcome anyone who loves singing – no auditions are necessary. We stretch ourselves to produce great music, with three performances a year, and we always have great fun in the making.
In May 2016 we joined forces with Berkhamsted Choral Society and the Leconfield Singers to perform Verdi’s Requiem at the Royal Festival Hall (see photo above).
Christmas Concert on Sunday, 11 December 2016 at Amersham Free Church. Programme to include Ramirez’ Navidad Nuestra, Rutti’s I wonder as I wander, Michael Head’s Little Road to Bethleham and other traditional and more unusual Christmas music.
Singing Workshop on Saturday, 21 January 2017. Open to all (time, venue and cost to be confirmed). We are extremely lucky to have secured Alexander L’Estrange to introduce us to his exciting approach to singing with a swing! His warm-up ‘You can sing; can you swing?’ will open a new world to the majority of us! We are not expected to come with any special skills. We will be spending a highly enjoyable and unforgettable three hours in the presence of a dynamic, original musician!
Concert at Watford Colosseum on Saturday, 6 May 2017. The programme for this concert is inspired by the centenary of World War I and will include Elgar’s Music Makers, Spirit of England and Polonia, as well as Vaughan-Williams’ Six Choral Songs and Brian Knowles’ setting of In Flanders Field.
