We are a large group of committed and enthusiastic singers of all ages and backgrounds, united by our love of music in general and choral singing in particular. We welcome anyone who loves singing from all voice groups – no auditions necessary.
We perform a wide-ranging repertoire in local, national and overseas venues. Our singing year includes a family concert at Christmas and in the Spring, we prepare a major choral work, accompanied by professional soloists. In September, we join forces with Berkhamsted Choral Society to perform a programme which both choirs have rehearsed during the summer term.
In addition to the above three concerts, every August, CCS singers (and non-singing partners) have the opportunity to participate in optional 3-5 day Choir Tours in the UK and Europe.
During the year, we enjoy a range of social events, including supper recitals, quizzes and parties, some of which also help to raise funds for the Society. We also organise occasional “bring and sing” performances of such popular classics as Handel’s Messiah and Mozart’s Requiem.
We come from Chorleywood and many surrounding towns and villages, including Beaconsfield, High Wycombe, Chesham, Amersham, the Chalfonts, Rickmansworth, Watford, Bushey and the Langleys.
We rehearse on a Monday evening at The Hillside Centre, Hillside Road, Chorleywood WD3 5AS. Members meet informally from 7.30 pm for a catch-up and refreshments and our warm-up and rehearsal start at 8pm.
